Course Description

Concepts, Nursing Principles and Techniques in Perioperative Nursing, Infection Prevention and Control in the Operating Room, Advanced Health Assessment and Clinical Decision Making, Advanced Technology-Enabled Surgery and Perioperative Nursing, Health System and Health Policy, Selected Perioperative Nursing Care, and Perioperative Nursing Management.

Learning Outcome

  • Explain the health policy system, regulations and laws related to perioperative nursing.
  • Explain human anatomy and physiology, disease pathology and perioperative nursing processes accurately.
  • Use the nursing process in nursing care for patients undergoing surgery in accordance with the patient’s condition holistically based on nursing ethics, professional codes of conduct, regulations, policies and laws to ensure patient safety and maximum benefit, and to adjust nursing plans appropriately to patient’s changing conditions.
  • Prepare and deliver surgical instruments and manage both basic and advanced technology instruments correctly, appropriately and efficiently.
  • Perform perioperative nursing care using advanced technology by integrating nursing science and related sciences to ensure patient safety.
  • Prevent and control infections in the operating room and effectively manage various risks in the operating room.
  • Effectively communicate, coordinate and work as a team with the surgical team and relevant personnel.
  • Effectively apply empirical evidence, research results and information to develop the quality of perioperative nursing.
  • Demonstrate nursing leadership, management and clinical decision-making. and cooperation with the health team, family, caregivers and society
  • Act as a mentor to teach, transfer knowledge and surgical nursing skills to those with lower competence
  • Be able to search for new knowledge and science in surgical nursing to use in developing one's own abilities
